Mt Washington - Smith Bros, Melon Shape Biscuit Cracker Jar

Lovely hand-painted Wild Rose decoration - blossoms and buds on meandering thorned vines.
Opaque satinized shading from a lavender-pink at the top, to a light yellowish-green at the bottom.
The shaded coloring is a light 'simulated Burmese' technique, with the lower greenish hue extending onto the very bottom.
The melon-ribbed jar is 7-inches tall at the lid, 9-inches at the bail handle and approx. 6-inches at its widest.
No damage to the glass or metal and only slight age-related wear, in random spots, to the floral decoration.
The lid is stamped "SB 4402 /b", (see detail photo) signifying that the Mt. Washington / Pairpoint piece was sold to, and decorated by, the Smith Bros. company. As can be seen in the photos, the metal is heavily tarnished and it may be missing some silver plate.
